Basket Weave Basket Pattern

I wanted to publish this basket pattern. I've loved the basket weave stitch and changed a basket pattern I found for free. The original pattern is by Lily Sugar’n Cream at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gift-basket-2

CROCHET BASKET WEAVE BASKET

Size: Approx 8 inches [20.5 cm] diameter

MATERIALS REQUIRED: Lily Sugar’n Cream 100% Cotton –

2 balls (may be the same color or different) Use 2 strands of yarn to make the basket sturdy.

Size 6.50 mm (U.S. K or 101⁄2) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION: 9 dc and 4 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

Ch= chain stitch

sc= single crochet

dc= double crochet

ss= slip stitch

Front Post Double Crochet

Back Post Double Crochet

Rep= repeat

These stitches are done with double crochet, by working around the post of each stitch in the row below. Here's how:

Front Post Stitch: yo (yarn over) your hook; starting from the front, place hook from front to back to front around the post of stitch in row below; complete as a dc (double crochet).

And the back post stitch is just an opposite of that ...

Back Post Stitch: yo, starting from the back, place hook from back to front to back around post of stitch in row below; complete as a dc.

still tired

It's been more than a month since the marathon and I'm wiped out still!! I want to run and not be weary like I used to run. I feel so heavy and running takes so much more effort than it used to. Running used to feel so free and fun. Now I just do it wake me up for the day. It's a chore and not as enjoyable as it used to be. I miss it.

Yoga has helped me relax a little. Brian has been gone most of the time and it takes so much work to clean, take care of the kids, and try to survive.

I'm spent!

Worst Run Ever!!!

Each step of the Ogden Marathon was painful. Besides running on hardly any sleep for the past week, I had a pain in my piraformis--literally a pain in the butt!!! My hip hurt each time I tried to run. How was I going to finish this thing? Well, it was slow going but I finished my race and walked a good part of the last half. I still can't run today. I tried. It still hurts and I am so burned out. Walking is boring, but hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.

Why run a marathon?

I'm having real doubts as to why I keep paying money to run marathons. Each race brings with it weeks of training, running miles each week, etc. Before every race I seem to hit the wall before I even start running. Crazy. I'm sicker than I've been in a while with a nightmare cold, cough, and congestion. I've worked so hard putting in long miles each week and now I feel mostly dead. Not from the training, but from a virus. UGH! I should be grateful I can run at all, but I want to run well at these marathons. I want to qualify for Boston. Why is it so hard!!!!

I thought about having a blog...

Life seems to keep busy for us.

Brian really is a great dad and husband. He puts up with my running and comes to my marathons. I liked the TOU again this year. I was slow, but enjoyed the race.

Alex likes scouts and is getting his Bear. We worked on scouts this sumer and now he's ahead. Alex really is getting good on the piano.

Elise loves ice skating and is taking lessons this fall. She also wants to take guitar lessons, since the piano is getting boring.

Sarah loves school and playing with friends. She has made new friends this fall. She also is playing new piano songs and is a sweet girl.

Seth is full of energy. I can see him in sports. He's a fast sprinter!
