Basket Weave Basket Pattern

I wanted to publish this basket pattern. I've loved the basket weave stitch and changed a basket pattern I found for free. The original pattern is by Lily Sugar’n Cream at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gift-basket-2

CROCHET BASKET WEAVE BASKET

Size: Approx 8 inches [20.5 cm] diameter

MATERIALS REQUIRED: Lily Sugar’n Cream 100% Cotton –

2 balls (may be the same color or different) Use 2 strands of yarn to make the basket sturdy.

Size 6.50 mm (U.S. K or 101⁄2) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION: 9 dc and 4 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

Ch= chain stitch

sc= single crochet

dc= double crochet

ss= slip stitch

Front Post Double Crochet

Back Post Double Crochet

Rep= repeat

These stitches are done with double crochet, by working around the post of each stitch in the row below. Here's how:

Front Post Stitch: yo (yarn over) your hook; starting from the front, place hook from front to back to front around the post of stitch in row below; complete as a dc (double crochet).

And the back post stitch is just an opposite of that ...

Back Post Stitch: yo, starting from the back, place hook from back to front to back around post of stitch in row below; complete as a dc.
